Teachers College, Columbia University's Staff Recognition Ceremony 2022 by Christian Hernandez

I was asked to return to TC to photograph a ceremony in June that was halted by COVID-19 for two years - their Staff Recognition Ceremony. It was a 2-day celebration of faculty and staff who have been at the college for anywhere from 10 to 55+ years. I photographed this event on my own and was glad to be called in for this project. Making Pottery at Porch Pottery by Christian Hernandez

I had been wanting to take a pottery class for a while, so before I moved back to Florida, I purchased a Groupon for a 2-hour pottery class that included making pottery on a wheel. The Groupon was for 4 people, so it was perfect for my family and I. The only time I had done anything with pottery was in 5th grade and I don't remember a lot of it, so I thought why not try it out for fun?
