Photographing Kyle & Gina's Engagement / by Christian Hernandez

Recently, I got the opportunity to photograph another one of my friend’s engagement. I met Kyle a little less than a year ago at a Men’s group from church and he recently reached out to me to see if I’d be available to photograph his upcoming engagement.

This is the second proposal/engagement I photograph that is happening in the moment. I’m learning that the experience is really thrilling. I get to be the one in charge of capturing it all.

As with the engagement I photographed previously, what helped me really prepare to capture the moment was going to the location with Kyle prior to the day and running through the plan.

On this day, Kyle was surprising Gina with 6 surprises in different locations around Orlando. This location was surprise #3. Gina told us later that she suspected the engagement might have been this day.

Kyle planned the location, as well as brought down her family and his family to celebrate and witness the occasion.

The first section of photos here shows Kyle walking Gina as she’s blindfolded to the location where he would propose.

Here is what I captured.

LOCATION: Kraft Azalea Garden | Winter Park, FL
GEAR USED: Canon 5D Mark IV | Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 | Canon 50mm f/1.4

He then proposed. She, of course, said yes!

And afterwards, we went around the park and took a few engagement portraits.

It was a great day and I’m grateful I got to capture a little bit of their love :)
