I met Caitlin in December 2019 when she was a bridesmaid at one of the weddings I photographed. Without a clue that she was getting married herself, Caitlin reached out to me that same month after the wedding needing a photographer for her own wedding later in 2020.
I lived in New York at the time and Caitlin and Seth were getting married in Florida, so we worked out the logistics and I was scheduled to photograph their wedding. In my wedding packages, I always include an Engagement shoot. When possible, I like to get to know the couple before the wedding day by photographing an engagement shoot for them. It helps us get familiar with each other so that when we get to the wedding day, we can eliminate the variable of meeting each other for the first time. We got to take those photos in March 2020.
Due to COVID-19, New York City had a lock-down, mandates, and the agency I worked in put in place a strict no travel policy after March 2020 - even for domestic travel. It was disappointing, but I would be unable to photograph their union due to their wedding being in Florida.
Even though I was unable to photograph their wedding, I am so thankful I was able to provide them some memories of the time they were engaged that they will keep with them.
They were so great together and their joy and closeness I see is evident in the photos. Below are some of the photos we captured together.
